Founder and Managing Director
Alessandra Chirico is the Founder and Managing Director of Chirico Consulting. With over 20 years of experience, she brings an interesting combination of legal expertise, policy insight, and behavioral understanding to help organizations navigate complexity, influence outcomes, and deliver measurable impact.
A PhD in European Law from the European University Institute and postdoctoral fellow at Humboldt University, Alessandra has worked across Italy, Germany, Denmark, and Belgium, advising clients in financial services, aerospace & defence, and cybersecurity. She also serves as EU Relationship Manager for Women4Cyber Italia, promoting gender inclusion and digital skills at the EU level.
Her work integrates policy analysis, strategic foresight, and behavioral insights, enabling clients to anticipate change, challenge assumptions, and design resilient strategies. She has collaborated extensively with EU institutions, think tanks, and industry stakeholders, translating complex regulatory and policy landscapes into actionable strategies and fostering cross-sector collaboration.
KEY ACHIEVEMENTS
- Coordinated a Task Force of the EU Digital Policy Advisory within the European Commission’s targeted consultation on Artificial Intelligence in the financial sector, aligning Italian and EU perspectives and supporting the Commission in assessing market trends, risks, and the implementation of the AI Act and related financial regulations.
- Contributed to the organisation of a high-level transatlantic governmental meeting to align policies on critical global issues within the SDG framework.
- Coordinated Women4Cyber Italia’s specific contribution to the UN Global Digital Compact, engaging EU negotiators.
- Drafted the Conformity Assessment of the Capital Requirements Directive IV for Italy, producing a comprehensive 1,000-page report on regulatory compliance and implementation.
- Managed a MiFID compliance project for Saxo Bank A/S ensuring full readiness for the EU Directive ahead of its entry into force.

EU-Funding and Procurement Expert | Communication Strategy Developer
Born and bred in a multicultural background, Cristina studied in the UK, worked in Italy, Germany and Belgium -thus calls herself a true European.
In her long-standing career as account manager in international advertising agencies, she worked for public administrations, SMEs, regional, national governments and multinational corporations, developing highly individual communication and marketing strategies.
She has included EU public procurement in her portfolio and can combine her expertise from the private and public sector to achieve new, ambitious goals and results - linking EU policy aspects with innovative, effective communication and media strategies and activities.
This is facilitated by using 5 European languages on a daily basis and embracing different cultures.
KEY ACHIEVEMENTS
- With more than 10 years of experience in EU funding and project management, Cristina has successfully led and secured numerous grant-funded initiatives from the following EU Programmes: LIFE, Erasmus +, CERV, EU4Health, Horizon 2020, Horizon Europe, Digital Europe – as well as grants from the European Parliament for the media.
- As an ethically driven and highly motivated professional Cristina thrives in a highly diversified environment and is committed to achieving impact and long-term sustainability of public spending.
